Oddendale

Oddendale is a hamlet in Cumbria, England, near the village of Shap, notable for its nearby concentric stone circle. The monument features an outer ring of 34 pink granite boulders (26.3 m diameter) and an inner circle of 23 smaller boulders (7.5 m diameter) surrounding a low cairn. A 1997 excavation revealed the site's complex history: initially two concentric circles of oak posts dating to the Neolithic (c. 2872-2350 BC), later replaced with stone cappings, followed by an Early Bronze Age ring cairn. It is part of the broader Shap complex of cairns and standing stones.
