Long Meg and Her Daughters

Long Meg and Her Daughters is a Neolithic stone circle in Cumbria, England[1]. One of approximately 1,300 stone circles in the British Isles and Brittany, it comprises 59 stones (27 upright) in an east-west oval arrangement 106 metres long[1]. The third-widest circle in England after Avebury and Stanton Drew[1]. The monument was constructed as part of a megalithic tradition that emerged during the Neolithic and continued into the Early Bronze Age[2].
