Regensburg

Regensburg is a city in eastern Bavaria at the confluence of the Danube, Naab and Regen rivers, marking the Danube's northernmost point [1]. Founded as an imperial Roman river fort in the 1st century AD, it became the political, economic and cultural centre of the surrounding region [1]. Today it is the capital of the Upper Palatinate and Bavaria's fourth-largest city after Munich, Nuremberg and Augsburg [1].
