Oppidum Steinsburg

The Oppidum Steinsburg is the remains of a major Celtic fortified settlement on the Kleiner Gleichberg in South Thuringia, Germany [1] [2]. Dating to approximately 2,500 years ago, it covered about 68 hectares [3] [4] [5]. Metal objects and Celtic artifacts were discovered during road construction from 1838, and the Steinsburg Museum was built on the saddle between the twin basalt peaks [1].
