Heidengraben

Heidengraben is the remains of a massive Celtic oppidum (fortified settlement) on the Swabian Jura plateau in Baden-Württemberg, spanning the Reutlingen and Esslingen districts [1]. Dating to the La Tène period, it was occupied from the 2nd century BC through the 1st century BC [1][2]. Covering approximately 1,700 hectares, it is the largest oppidum in mainland Europe by surface area [1].
