Breitenbach - Archaeological Site

Breitenbach is a major Aurignacian open-air settlement near Breitenbach village in Saxony-Anhalt, Germany, dating to the early Upper Paleolithic, the period of initial modern human colonization of Europe. It is the largest known Aurignacian settlement site in western Eurasia, providing key evidence for early Upper Paleolithic social organization and spatial planning. Overlying Paleolithic deposits are remains of a later Neolithic settlement[1][2].
