Stockdorf

Stockdorf is the largest district in the municipality of Gauting in Upper Bavaria, Germany, situated along the Wurm River. Settlements in the area trace back to the early Bronze Age, making it among the earliest in Upper Bavaria. A cairn field from the Bronze Age and archaeological discoveries from the Hallstatt period, including bronze bowls and iron swords, attest to significant prehistoric occupation. A large Celtic entrenchment provides further evidence of Iron Age habitation in the area.
