Passau

Passau is a city in Lower Bavaria, Germany, known as the Dreiflüssestadt ("City of Three Rivers") where the Danube is joined by the Inn from the south and the Ilz from the north [1]. In the 2nd century BC, the Boii tribe were pushed north across the Alps by Romans and established Boiodurum (from Gaulish Boioduron) in what is now the Innstadt district [1]. The settlement later became the Roman colony Batavis during the 1st-5th centuries AD [1].
