Caus Castle

Caus Castle is a ruin of a hill fort and medieval castle in Westbury, Shropshire, England [1]. It sits on the eastern foothills of the Long Mountain, guarding the route from Shrewsbury to Montgomery on the England-Wales border [1] [2]. The site was later developed into a large motte-and-bailey structure with some upstanding masonry [1] [3]. The castle was destroyed during the English Civil War and has remained in ruins since [1] [2].
