Brandon Camp

Brandon Camp is an Iron Age hillfort that was later occupied as a Roman fort, located about 1.6 km south of Leintwardine in Herefordshire. The roughly triangular univallate hillfort encloses approximately 3.3 hectares on Brandon Hill above the River Teme. During the Neronian period (mid-1st century AD), the Romans built a fort over the hillfort, including a large timber military granary, officer's quarters, and a commandant's house, with trenches of timber buildings cut into the rock. The site is a scheduled monument overlooking a cluster of Roman military establishments around Leintwardine.
