Nordy Bank

Nordy Bank is an Iron Age univallate hillfort on the western spur of Brown Clee Hill in Shropshire, England. The oval enclosure measures 260m by 200m, covering 3.2 hectares, defended by a single turf-covered rampart up to 3m high and a rock-cut ditch 1.5m deep and 5-8m wide. The sole entrance is in the northeast, with broadened ramparts suggesting a former gatehouse. Unlike neighboring hillforts, Nordy Bank is well preserved and is a scheduled monument. It dates to the late Bronze Age or early Iron Age, around 400 BC.
