Coxall Knoll

Coxall Knoll is an Iron Age hillfort on the Shropshire-Herefordshire border, encompassing roughly 12 acres across three enclosures with up to three ramparts and two ditches on its northern side. The oval hillfort at 262m elevation features inturned rampart entrances and wide quarry ditches. It faces Brandon Camp hillfort across the River Teme, with three Roman camps in the valley between them, indicating the area remained strategically important into the Roman period. Interior deposits likely contain post holes, hearths, and storage pits revealing Iron Age occupation.
