Maiden Castle, Cheshire

Maiden Castle is an Iron Age hill fort in Cheshire, one of only seven fortified settlements in the county[1]. The Cornovii tribe are recorded as occupying the surrounding area during this period, though their presence lacks archaeological verification due to an absence of distinctive pottery or metalwork[1].
