Schanzenkopf is a wooded hill in the Spessart mountains of Bavaria, Germany, located in the district of Aschaffenburg.[1] Rising to 343 meters (1,125 ft) above sea level, it forms part of the Hahnenkamm ridge in the Mittelgebirge Spessart region of Lower Franconia.[1] The site contains an earthwork dating from the Roman period between the 1st and 5th centuries AD, representing a fortified position within the historical landscape of the Spessart.[2]
