Alb Limes

The Alb Limes is a Roman frontier fortification of the late 1st century AD running nearly 135 km across the Swabian Jura in southern Germany, from Rottweil (Arae Flaviae) to Heidenheim an der Brenz (Aquileia). It formed part of the broader Upper Germanic-Raetian Limes system, which featured watchtowers placed within line of sight along its entire length. The limes was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2005 as part of the Frontiers of the Roman Empire.
