Longforth Farm

Longforth Farm near Wellington, Somerset, was uncovered during 2013 excavations by Wessex Archaeology prior to housing development. The earliest features are Bronze Age field systems, enclosures, trackways, and paddocks dating to around 1200 BC, with Trevisker Ware pottery fragments. The principal discovery was a high-status medieval manor house with a hall, solar with garderobe, and service wing, occupied from the late 12th to early 15th century. Floor tiles matching those at Glastonbury Abbey and imported French pottery suggest the complex may have belonged to the Bishops of Bath and Wells.
