Ruborough Camp

Ruborough Camp is an Iron Age hillfort on the Quantock Hills near Broomfield in Somerset, England, whose name derives from the Old English Rugan beorh meaning "Rough Hill". The triangular fort sits on an easterly spur from the main Quantock ridge, with steep natural slopes to the north and southeast. It is univallate, with a single rampart and ditch enclosing 1.8 hectares, and a parallel outer linear work 120 metres away enclosing an additional 1.8 hectares. A now-filled tunnel once provided safe access to a nearby spring. It is a Scheduled Ancient Monument and listed on the Heritage at Risk Register.
