Phylaki

Phylaki is an archaeological site near the modern village of Phylaki on Crete, featuring a Late Minoan IIIA tholos tomb discovered in 1981. The tomb is approached by an 11-metre dromos carved into soft rock, leading to a chamber measuring 3.40 by 3.65 metres with a pyramidal vault. At least nine burials were found, along with a gold necklace of 28 rosettes, fifteen seal stones, amulets, bronze weapons, and ivory decorations depicting warriors in boar's tusk helmets. Plaques decorated with wild goats, sphinxes, and figure-of-eight shields reflect the rich Minoan artistic tradition.
