Sigwells

Sigwells is a hamlet on a rural plateau overlooking Cadbury Castle hillfort in Somerset, England, rich in archaeological remains spanning from the Bronze Age to the early medieval period. Investigated by the South Cadbury Environs Project, the site yielded a Middle Bronze Age metalworking building dated to the 12th century BC, the earliest known such structure in Britain. Iron Age findings include an extensive patchwork of ditch-bounded paddocks, a double-ditched trackway, roundhouses, and enclosures containing animal and human burials alongside metalwork deposits. The site has been designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument.
