Creech Hill

Creech Hill in southeast Somerset features a univallate Iron Age hillfort at its northern end near Milton Clevedon, designated a Scheduled Ancient Monument [1]. Lamyatt Beacon, the highest point of the hill, hosts the remains of a Romano-Celtic temple built in the late 3rd century AD, in use until the early 5th century [1] [2]. A burial ground with 16 graves lies north of the temple, and a sunken chamber to the south showed marks of burning [2] [3] [4].
