Tedbury Camp

Tedbury Camp is a multivallate Iron Age promontory hill fort near Great Elm, Somerset, England, covering approximately 60 acres of triangular ground between the Mells River and Fordbury Water. It is defended by two parallel banks, with the inner bank standing 3 to 4.6 metres high in places, and a strong vallum 250 yards long across the base of the triangle. Evidence suggests an underground passage roughly 100 yards long once led from the camp to a spring on the hillside. The site also shows Roman occupation between 337 and 366 AD, which left behind a coin hoard.
