Grey Croft is a Bronze Age stone circle near Seascale in Cumbria, measuring approximately 30 metres in diameter with 10 surviving stones of an original 12, some reaching nearly two metres high. The stones are hard agglomerates of the Borrowdale volcanic series, with one outlier at 34 metres distance. In 1820, farmer James Fox buried all but one stone to clear his fields; in 1949, W. Fletcher and boys from Pelham House School unearthed and restored them. Excavations yielded Bronze Age flints, stone axes, a Whitby jet ring, and red granite cobbles from a burial cairn.
