Caesar's Camp, Bracknell Forest

Iron Age hillfort dating to around 500-300 BC in Crowthorne, Berkshire, one of the largest in southern England at roughly 7 hectares (17 acres), surrounded by a mile-long ditch. Its distinctive oak-leaf plan features steep banks and ditches enclosing a large flat settlement area, with a heavily defended sinuous entrance at the northern tip. Situated within Windsor Forest near the Roman road known as the Devil's Highway, this proximity likely led medieval mapmakers to wrongly attribute the fort to the Romans. A 1995 English Heritage geophysical survey yielded limited finds.
