Medmenham

Medmenham in Buckinghamshire, England, is notable for two Iron Age hillforts along the Thames. Medmenham Camp is a univallate hillfort enclosing approximately 17 acres on a spur overlooking the Thames valley, defended by a rampart and ditch with an entrance on the northwest. Nearby Danesfield Camp is a larger multivallate hillfort where excavations uncovered Middle and Late Iron Age pottery, post-built circular structures with daub walls, and Neolithic flint tools indicating earlier activity. The relationship between these two hillforts is considered significant for studying tribal boundaries in the later Iron Age.
