Chanctonbury Ring is a prehistoric hillfort situated atop Chanctonbury Hill on the South Downs in West Sussex, England[1]. The site occupies a strategic position on the Sussex Downs, with a ridgeway—now part of the South Downs Way—running along the hill[1]. It forms part of a complex of associated historical features spanning over 2,000 years, including Bronze Age to Saxon round barrows and Iron Age to Roman period dykes[1]. The hillfort represents a significant prehistoric defensive structure in southern England.
