The Trundle

The Trundle is an Iron Age hillfort on St Roche's Hill, approximately 6 km (4 miles) north of Chichester, West Sussex, England[1]. Built on the site of a Neolithic causewayed enclosure, it represents two phases of prehistoric earthwork construction[1]. A chapel dedicated to St Roche was erected around the late 14th century but lay in ruins by 1570[1]. A windmill and beacon were subsequently constructed on the hill[1]. The site served as an occasional meeting place during the post-medieval period[1].
