Pontes Fort

Pontes Fort was a 2nd-century Roman fort on the Danube River in the province of Moesia, near modern Kladovo, Serbia [1]. Built around 103–105 AD during Trajan's reign, it guarded the southern terminus of Trajan's Bridge [1]. As part of the Limes Moesiae frontier system, the fort was a key defensive installation along the Danube border [1]. Archaeological excavations have revealed its significance as one of the most important Roman military sites in the region, now preserved within an archaeological park [1].
