Aiadava

The Roman fortification featured an irregular rectangular plan with polygonal towers [1]. Within its walls, archaeologists found a civil basilica with semicircular apse; outside lay a three-nave basilica with baptistery and a necropolis [1]. Saint Nicetas of Remesiana (c. 335-414) served as bishop here [2]. The site is now beneath modern Bela Palanka [2] [3].
