Ražanj

Razanj is a municipality in the Nisava District of southern Serbia, situated on the ancient Via Militaris, the Roman military highway built in 33 AD connecting Europe to the Middle East. Known as Cametas in Roman times, the settlement served as a stop along this vital route. Archaeological finds recovered during construction work confirm habitation from prehistoric times, with artifacts held in museums in Belgrade and Nis. The nearby 9th-century Monastery of St. Roman is the area's most significant surviving historical monument.
