Bonstorf Barrows

The Bonstorf Barrows are the remains of a barrow cemetery on the Lüneburg Heath in Lower Saxony, dating to 3000–1500 BC [1]. The site originally comprised numerous burial mounds, with six still visible today, closely packed together east of Bonstorf village in the municipality of Hermannsburg in the district of Celle [1]. Bronze Age barrows like these were constructed as burial monuments, often containing individual or collective interments with grave goods [2].
