Walbury Hill

Walbury Hill in Berkshire, England, at 297 metres is the highest natural point in South East England. Its summit hosts Walbury Camp, the largest Iron Age hillfort in Berkshire at approximately 82 acres (33 hectares). This univallate Early Iron Age enclosure has a roughly trapezoidal form with ramparts towering 5 metres above the ditch on the northern side and two entrances, the northwest one featuring a barbican-like structure with a holloway crossing two outworks. Associated with extensive prehistoric field systems to the west and south, it has been classified as an early hilltop enclosure with a pastoral function.
