Cunetio

Cunetio was a large walled Romano-British town in the River Kennet valley in Wiltshire, England, occupied from the 2nd century AD until the early 5th century [1]. Located near modern-day Mildenhall, about 2.4 km (1.5 mi) east of Marlborough, the settlement was unknown until aerial photography revealed it in the 1940s [1]. Excavations uncovered a substantial urban area defended by large masonry walls, with artefacts including kitchenware, personal effects, and two hoards of Roman coinage [1].
