Redbourn

Redbourn is a village in Hertfordshire, England, on the line of Roman Watling Street, with archaeological evidence spanning from the Iron Age to the Roman period [1] [2]. Southwest of the village lies the Aubreys, an Iron Age hill fort enclosure [1]. To the north, a complex of Roman temples was excavated at Friar's Wash by Channel 4's Time Team in 2008, situated in the hinterland of the important Romano-British town of Verulamium (St Albans) [1] [3] [4]. The village has been continuously settled since at least Saxon times and appears in the Domesday Book [1].
