Woburn Sands

Danesborough Camp is an Iron Age univallate hillfort on Aspley Heath near Woburn Sands, Buckinghamshire. The roughly oval fortification spans 8.5 acres at 500 feet elevation, with U-shaped ditches reaching 8-9 feet deep and ramparts with a counterscarp bank. A 1924 excavation by James Berry recovered Early Iron Age and Romano-British pottery dating to the 1st century BC to 1st century AD, along with two hearths suggesting temporary rather than permanent occupation. The site is a scheduled monument.
