Maiden Bower Hill Fort

Maiden Bower is a multi-period hillfort and causewayed enclosure near Dunstable in Bedfordshire, England, dating from the Neolithic to the Iron Age (c. 4500 BC – 500 BC). The site, a scheduled monument, features a single rampart reaching up to 3 metres (9.8 ft) in height, surrounding a roughly circular enclosure approximately 225 metres (738 ft) in diameter. A disused chalk quarry on the northwestern side has destroyed about 100 metres (330 ft) of the rampart. Archaeological evidence includes traces of a Neolithic causewayed enclosure beneath the Iron Age fortification[1][2].
