Maiden Bower Hill Fort

Maiden Bower is a multi-period hillfort and causewayed enclosure near Dunstable in Bedfordshire, England, dating from the Neolithic to the Iron Age [1] [2]. The site, a scheduled monument, features a single rampart reaching up to 3 metres (9.8 ft) in height, surrounding a roughly circular enclosure approximately 225 metres (738 ft) in diameter [1]. A disused chalk quarry on the northwestern side has destroyed about 100 metres (330 ft) of the rampart [1] [2]. Archaeological evidence includes traces of a Neolithic causewayed enclosure beneath the Iron Age fortification [1] [2].
