Oldberry Castle

Oldberry Castle is an Iron Age univallate hillfort located northwest of Dulverton in Somerset, England, close to the Devon border. The fort is an irregular oval measuring approximately 240 yards long and 100 yards wide, enclosing less than 3 acres. It is defended by a stone bank 7-8 feet above the outer ditch, with the ditch measuring 18 feet wide in wooded sections. The site overlooks the ancient crossing point of the River Barle and is designated as a Scheduled Monument. Only the northeast defences survive well in woodland; the rest has been incorporated into hedge banks.
