EnglandBronze Age round barrow cemetery on the summit of Winsford Hill, Exmoor. The cemetery includes the Wambarrows, three prominent bowl barrows ranging from 17.6m to 28.8m in diameter and up to 1.9m high. Dating to c.2500-700 BC, the name derives from 'Wamburg' recorded in the 1219 Exmoor Forest perambulation. Despite historical robbing, the barrows retain archaeological deposits and environmental evidence relating to Bronze Age funerary practices on Exmoor.
