Mounsey Castle

Mounsey Castle is an Iron Age promontory fort situated on a steep-sided ridge above the confluence of the River Barle and Danes Brook, northwest of Dulverton in Somerset, England. The irregular triangular earthwork covers 1.75 hectares and is defended by a drystone wall approximately 3 metres thick, surviving several courses high. An outwork consisting of a bank and ditch crosses the ridge neck about 100 metres to the north. Named after the medieval Monceaux family, the site is a Scheduled Monument and is listed on Historic England's Heritage at Risk register.
