Moel Arthur

Moel Arthur is an Iron Age hillfort built around 500 BC on a prominent 456-metre hill in the Clwydian Range, Flintshire, Wales. Covering just over 2 hectares, it is relatively small but boasts some of the largest earthwork banks and ditches among the Clwydian hillforts, with a notable double rampart on the northern slope. The fort likely housed roundhouse dwellers of the Deceangli tribe who farmed the surrounding landscape. Bronze Age copper axes and Roman pottery found within the ramparts indicate long-term multi-period use of the site.
