Moel y Gaer, Llanbedr

Moel y Gaer ("bald hill of the fortress") is an Iron Age hillfort on a western spur of the Clwydian Range near Llanbedr, Denbighshire, Wales. The oval fortification measures approximately 200 by 180 metres, covering about 2.63 hectares, defended by two large banks and ditches with additional earthworks near the northeast entrance. One of a chain of six hillforts in the Clwydian Range, it sits at 320-345 metres elevation with commanding views over the Vale of Clwyd. Surveys identified 15 round platforms indicating former roundhouses and evidence of intense fire damage.
