Breidden Hill

Breidden Hill is a steep-sided prominence reaching 367 m near Welshpool in Powys, Wales [1]. Its summit holds a large Iron Age hillfort occupied through the Bronze and Iron Ages into the Roman period, with remains of a defensive ditch, stone inner bank, and outer bank still visible [2]. Excavations revealed timber roundhouses and other structures within the fort [3]. The site has been traditionally linked to the last stand of Caractacus against the Romans, though this identification remains debated [1] [4].
