Juhor is a mountain in central Serbia near Paracin whose summit peak, Veliki Vetren (774 m), contains the only known Celtic fort and metallurgical centre south of the Sava and Danube rivers. In 1997, hunters discovered a cache yielding over 400 metal objects, including complete cavalry equipment for 14 Celtic Scordisci riders and their horses -- the largest such find worldwide. The three most lavish equipment sets correspond to the Scordisci command structure of one leader and two lieutenants. The oppidum features a 1.5 m thick cultural layer spanning from the 5th millennium BCE to modern times and was likely destroyed in 74 BCE during Cornelius Scipio's campaign against the Scordisci.
