Dolmen of Pedra Branca

The Dolmen of Pedra Branca is a Late Neolithic and Chalcolithic burial tomb in Vale de Figueira, parish of Melides, Grandola municipality, Setubal District, Portugal. Built c. 2500 BC and reused around 2000 BC, it features a polygonal main chamber (3.85 x 3.4 m) with 7 pillars and a trapeze-shaped gallery with 5 pillars, reached by an entrance corridor. The chamber roof was supported by a 2.20 m tall quartzite pillar. Excavations uncovered approximately 65 skeletal remains alongside slate plaque necklaces and stone tools. The site is classified as a Public Interest Construction.
