Anta das Pedras Grandes

A Late Neolithic megalithic dolmen in Canecas, Odivelas municipality, Lisbon District, Portugal, dating to approximately 4500-2000 BC. The polygonal burial chamber with a short corridor was built on limestone and basalt, originally composed of eight pillars surrounded by a clay tumulus. Research suggests it belongs to the initial phase of megalithic funerary monumentality in south-central Portugal. Classified as a National Monument since 1944, it now sits within a large urban park.
