Funerary Naiskos of Demetria and Pamphile

The Funerary Naiskos of Demetria and Pamphile is a white marble tomb memorial erected c. 320 BC in the Kerameikos cemetery of Athens, honoring two deceased women. Carved in high relief, it shows Pamphile seated on an elaborately decorated throne with a ram's head armrest supported by a siren. It is one of the last decorated funerary monuments placed in Kerameikos before the prohibition of such tombs in the late 4th century BC. Discovered in 1870, it was moved to the Kerameikos Archaeological Museum in 2003.
