Southwest Temple of the Ancient Agora of Athens

The Southwest Temple is a tetrastyle prostyle Doric temple in the Ancient Agora of Athens, built in the 1st century AD during Augustus's reign using spoliated materials from Hellenistic structures and a 5th-century BC stoa at Thorikos[1]. Fragments found throughout the Agora enable a tentative reconstruction of its appearance[1]. The temple's dedication remains unknown, as no evidence identifies which god or hero it honored[1]. The structure was dismantled in 267 AD and its materials reused to build the post-Herulian fortification wall after the Herulian sack of Athens[1].
