GreeceArcadian Gate (4th c. BC) is a monumental megalithic structure at Ancient Messene in Greece. One of the city's two original gates, it served as the western entrance through the fortifications. Built with massive rectangular limestone blocks, the gate exemplifies advanced Hellenistic fortification techniques and remains remarkably well preserved. It received a European Heritage Award / Europa Nostra Award for its conservation. [1][2]
