Alogonia - Town

Alagonia was an ancient town near the Laconia-Messenia border in the Peloponnese, Greece [1] [2]. Pausanias lists it among the cities of the Free Laconians (Eleuthero-Lacones), situated about thirty stades inland from Gerenia, and records temples of Dionysus and Artemis there [1] [3] [4]. Its precise location remains uncertain, though it is tentatively placed near the modern village of Anatoliko in Messenia [1] [5].
