A Roman villa complex in Winterton, North Lincolnshire, discovered in 1747. Built in three phases from the early 2nd century to mid-4th century AD, the villa features buildings surrounding a 300-foot-wide courtyard, including three bath-houses, five large mosaics, a hypocaust heating system, and decorative wall paintings. Ian Stead's 1958-1967 excavations made it one of England's most archaeologically complete villa sites. A 1968 road-widening uncovered 4th-century bronze workings and a lead-lined stone coffin.
