Ruthergate

Ruthergate is a disused Roman-era road near Guisborough in North Yorkshire, England. The ancient trackway leads south from Ruther Cross on Hutton Lane, ascending Kemplah Hill via a well-defined cutting. [1] It is documented in early medieval charters under various name forms, including Rechergate and Rogergate. [1] The road may have originally served as an access route to a quarry at Highcliff. [1]
